Fair Work has updated the Fair Work Information Statement to make it easier for employees to understand minimum workplace entitlements. Every worker in Australia needs to get a copy of the Fair Work Information Statement when they start a new job. Employers must know that: The Fair Work Information Statement is information issued by the Fair Work Ombudsman that gives new employees a summary of the National Employment Standards and conditions of employment in Australia.
Employers have a legal obligation to give new employees a copy of the statement before or as soon as practical after they start employment. Stated in Section 125 of the Fair Work Act 2009. To access the latest copy please visit: https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employee-entitlements/national-employment-standards/fair-work-information-statement
Under the Fair Work Act 2009, employers who do not provide access to the Fair Work information statement may face a penalty for a breach of the NES.
