The Fair Work Commission has started a new major case to develop a “working from home” term in the Clerks—Private Sector Award 2020.
These proceedings aim to develop a “working from home” term in the Clerks Award, the most commonly used award for remote work. This follows the Modern Awards Review 2023-24’s recommendation to make awards more flexible and supportive of remote work, particularly for clerical roles.
The goal is to facilitate workable arrangements between employers and employees and remove any existing barriers, potentially serving as a model for other awards.
If you are interested in this case, you can attend a hearing before Justice Hatcher at 9.30 am on 13 September 2024 to discuss how the case will be run. More about the Working from home – Clerks Award case
